Safeguarding IP for AI-Generated Content
December 13, 2023
Presented by: Linda Emery, Lyle Gravatt, and Vincent Morrone

The advantages of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) for content creators are clear. GenAI has the potential to unleash creativity with unparalleled efficiency, enabling rapid deployment of tailored content. With these advantages come risk. The growth of AI has raised questions about IP ownership, and created new liabilities and risk for commercial use of content incorporating GenAI outputs. Businesses who engage content creators and GenAI vendors should be keenly aware of the contracts and policies governing these relationships. The legal landscape is evolving quickly and many of the historical templates and clauses do not sufficiently address the new challenges created by AI.

Tuesday, September 26, 2023
Presented by: Tom Agnello, Deborah Gerhardt, Lyle GravattEmily Haas, Michelle Kouba & Laura Lamansky

What a year it has been for trademark and copyright legal issues! AI has exploded and raised many questions about how our copyright laws should apply to generative AI and its content outputs. In addition, recent consumer protection legislation governing online marketplaces may help brand owners target the source of counterfeits and other unauthorized products.
