Sarah Helton quoted in Milwaukee Business Journal article, "Trump tariffs won't disappear — so how should Wisconsin businesses prepare?"

President Donald Trump's threatened tariffs on goods from Mexico and Canada are on hold, but experts predict the pause doesn't mean the end of Trump tariffs on those countries or other regions — most notably in Europe. 

Far from it.
 
Manufacturers and other businesses in Wisconsin and nationwide started Monday expecting Trump to enact 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada. By the end of the day, he reached agreements with leaders of the two countries to pause tariffs for at least 30 days, which also suspended the possibility of retaliatory tariffs...at least for now. 
 
"What we've seen in the first two weeks (of the Trump administration) is not isolated to two weeks, it's not isolated to the first 100 days," said Sarah Helton, who works at the Washington D.C., office of Milwaukee-based law firm Michael Best & Friedrich. "Look at the next four years and even beyond."
