Alex assists clients with a variety of regulatory issues, including those before state public utility commissions, environmental regulators, and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Alex focuses his practice on renewable energy development and permitting.
Alex has helped multiple renewable energy developers receive Certificates of Public Convenience and Necessity from the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW) to construct large solar and battery energy storage projects. Alex has also worked with public utilities and other clients on a variety of contested case proceedings before the PSCW. In addition to his state level regulatory work, Alex provides support to renewable energy developers at the municipal level, defending and obtaining municipal permits for the construction of solar generation and battery energy storage projects.
At the federal level, Alex helps to represent a state public service commission, renewable energy developers, and other clients before FERC. Alex assists with pleadings and various other motion practices, along with necessary compliance filings for renewable generation facilities. Alex helps energy clients at all levels of regulation, and his experience in these multiple areas gives him a unique perspective on regulatory issues in the industry.
