Edgar is a Policy Analyst with Michael Best Strategies. He conducts research, assists with communications related to key legislative, political, regulatory, and procurement issues, and supports daily operations to serve Michael Best Strategies’ clients.
Prior to joining Strategies, Edgar worked as an Analyst at Edelman, a global communications firm. In this capacity, he supported strategic communications for clients across sectors including financial services, energy, sustainability, and healthcare. His work involved developing and executing international public affairs strategies that elevated organizational visibility and shaped policy narratives for multinational clients. Edgar also facilitated stakeholder engagement for events like COP28 and the United Nations General Assembly, ensuring senior-level participation from government and private sector leaders.
Edgar also served as a Client Manager at a campaign finance and consulting firm, where he advised members of Congress and senior staff on compliance with Federal Election Commission (FEC) regulations and guidelines. In this role, he managed client accounts, tracked regulatory developments, and provided strategic guidance on federal and state lobbying, gift, and pay-to-play compliance.
Previously, Edgar gained valuable internship experience in government relations, policy, and legislation. Edgar worked as a legislative intern for U.S. Representative Tony Gonzales (R-TX) in 2021. There, he monitored daily policy developments, drafted letters and constituent correspondence, constructed weekly co-sponsor memos for Committee and Stakeholder meetings, and conducted state-level research.
