Michael Best announced today that Patrick Stura will be joining the firm’s Corporate practice group as a Partner in Chicago.
A seasoned corporate and transactional attorney, Stura joins the firm after nearly two decades in the legal industry. He specializes in negotiating complex trading and finance documentation for investment managers and trading firms and has experience spanning a broad range of investment products and capital markets transactions.
“Patrick is an accomplished lawyer with extensive knowledge of prime brokerage agreements and derivatives trading practices,” said Jason Rogers, Practice Group Chair of Michael Best’s Corporate & Transactional group. “We’re thrilled to be able to add him to our roster of top-tier lawyers in our Transactional practice group.”
Stura focuses his practice on providing legal and business risk guidance to his clients in the negotiation, evaluation, and documentation of trading and financing agreements. He has experience with a wide array of prime brokerage agreements and lockups, ISDA Master Agreements, ISDA master confirmation agreements, segregated collateral custody agreements, repurchase and securities lending agreements, and other related trading agreements.

Stura received his B.A. from Drake University and his J.D. from the University of Minnesota where he graduated magna cum laude and was a member of the Order of the Coif.
