He approaches each project with the mindset of a business partner to expand the IP value of the product or product line while also closely working with engineers and staff to understand the nuts and bolts of the client’s technology. These qualities make him particularly successful in drafting and prosecuting patent applications directed to such items as compressors, pumps, electric motors, agricultural equipment, automotive fuel, and more.

Jon is a patent engineer in the firm’s Intellectual Property practice group.

Gayle’s practice focuses on the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, specifically in the area of patents, with a concentration on manufacturers. Through the application of strategic planning to intellectual property protection and strong management of patent portfolios, she helps manufacturers achieve their business goals.

Molly is experienced in all phases of obtaining patent protection both in the United States and internationally. Her patent prosecution and patent clearance practice is focused on computer software and hardware technologies, including imaging systems and applications (including computed tomography and radiographic image creation, analysis, and management), cryptographic and security applications, financial transaction processing, wireless networks and communication protocols, web-based applications and business methods.

Lyle focuses his practice in the area of intellectual property and transactional law. He provides end-to-end counsel to help clients identify, protect, and commercialize IP assets including trademarks, patents, and trade secrets. He works closely with his clients to understand their business priorities and help them align their IP, contractual, and government procurement needs to support those goals.

Elizabeth is experienced in both mechanical and naval engineering. She assists Michael Best attorneys with the drafting, preparation, and prosecution of patent applications in the U.S. and abroad. 

Nick focuses his patent procurement and portfolio management practice on mechanical and electro-mechanical technologies.

Russell is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property practice group. He focuses his practice on patent drafting, patent prosecution, and patentability analysis for clients in a variety of fields, including automotive, electronics, mining, telecommunications and software. In particular, his electronics practice focuses on display and image sensor technologies.
