Michael Best is pleased to announce that Mark Ihnat has joined the firm as Senior Counsel in the Wealth Planning practice group. He will be based in the Wilmington office.
With more than a decade of experience, Ihnat represents individuals in a variety of estate and wealth planning matters including the preparation of trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and charitable planning. Ihnat also guides clients through the estate and trust administration process. In his new role, Ihnat will collaborate with the firm’s corporate team in advising business owners and executives in business succession planning and asset protection matters.

Ihnat’s additional experience includes other transactional matters such as negotiating contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and non-compete agreements on behalf of businesses and individuals. He also has experience representing client’s interests in litigation. Prior to joining Michael Best, Ihnat was a founding partner at a boutique Wilmington-based firm.

Ihnat earned his J.D. from North Carolina Central University and his B.A. from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
