Michael Best is pleased to announce that Melissa Turczyn, Managing Partner of the firm’s Madison office, has been elected to serve a 3-year term on the M3 Insurance (M3) Board of Directors. In addition to Turczyn, one additional new member was elected to the Board, which is comprised of 9 individuals with broad experience and the ability to exercise independent judgement.

M3 is a top insurance broker and risk management firm in America. As a member of M3’s Board, Turczyn will be in part responsible for fiduciary oversight; reviewing, approving, and monitoring the company’s strategic plan; maintaining integrity, promoting ethical behavior, complying with regulatory requirements, and supporting stakeholder relationships; and conducting committee work and business oversight—a role Turczyn can draw parallels to in her leadership role at the firm.

Turczyn’s legal career at Michael Best spans over 16 years, representing entrepreneurs in organizing, financing, and building early-stage and emerging growth companies in industries as varied as IT, medical devices, clean tech, and mobile applications. Turczyn also represents venture capital funds, angel funds, and other strategic investors. She is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and the American Bar Association, and also sits on the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra and the Wisconsin Technology Council. Her recent recognitions include being listed in Best Lawyers®, Women in the Law in Madison, WI for Corporate Law, and Best Lawyers in America© for Corporate Law.
