Michael Best is proud to share that Katie A. Fillmore was named a top five finalist in the legal category for the 2024 Austin Under 40 Awards.
The Austin Under 40 Awards event has celebrated Austin’s emerging professionals since 1998, recognizing individuals under 40 for their impressive career achievements and involvement in the community. The finalists are chosen through peer nominations, a rigorous application, and multi-level judging process. The annual black-tie gala honors the finalists in each category, as well as raises money to advance the philanthropies of the Young Men’s Business League, including Austin Sunshine Camps.
Fillmore is a Litigation Partner in Michael Best’s Austin office. She is an advocate for clients both in the courtroom and before legislative and regulatory bodies, is an experienced litigator across numerous areas, including complex commercial litigation, health law, product liability defense, and government relations. She has represented hospital systems in multi-million-dollar disputes, major pharmaceutical companies in national mass tort litigation, and various auto manufacturers in product liability suits across Texas. For her excellence in these areas of private practice, Fillmore has also been recognized on the Best Lawyers “Ones to Watch” and Super Lawyers “Rising Stars” lists.
In addition to her noteworthy book of business, Fillmore stays active in the industry and its progress. She has served as pro bono outside counsel to Texas Access to Justice Commission, an organization created under the Supreme Court of Texas, and has held numerous leadership positions with the Texas Young Lawyers Association, Austin Young Lawyers Association, and Defense Research Institute.
Fillmore earned her J.D. from the Baylor University School of Law and graduated with a B.S. in advertising, with highest honors, from the University of Texas.
