Alison is a Patent Agent who specializes in organic chemistry and general life sciences. She has particular experience in the areas of natural products synthesis, neurochemistry, small molecules, and pharmaceuticals. She assists with preparing and prosecuting patent applications for private companies, universities, and other clients.
After earning her Ph.D. in Chemistry from Northwestern University, Alison worked as a Patent Analyst at leading IP services firm Cardinal Intellectual Property. She also completed Michael Best’s EDGE internship program before joining the firm in her present role.
While pursuing her undergraduate degree in Chemistry, Alison gained experience through several research roles, spending nearly two years as a research assistant in Grinnell College’s Chemistry department. She also interned for Takeda Pharmaceuticals in the company’s Discovery Chemistry department as well as Washington University in St. Louis in the university’s Neuroscience department.
