Carolyn advises public and private businesses on a range of employment, benefits, and compliance matters. She has particular experience in the context of mergers and acquisitions, assisting clients with employment diligence in both public and private transactions. Her work also includes helping clients navigate complex employment regulations and agreements while mitigating potential legal risks, and when the need arises, counseling on workplace internal investigations and employment litigation matters.
Carolyn’s practice also includes:
- Preparing and updating employee policies to ensure compliance with federal laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and Title VII, and similar state laws.
- Analyzing and drafting employment-related agreements and plans, including executive employment contracts, noncompetition and other restrictive covenants, and separation agreements.
- Assessing retirement and deferred compensation plans for compliance with ERISA and the IRC.
Before joining Michael Best, Carolyn was an associate at a multinational law firm representing clients in their employment matters.
