David is an intellectual property attorney with more than 20 years’ experience representing clients in both patent and trademark matters. He helps clients protect and monetize their ideas, identifying opportunities to increase revenue and value and to maximize clients’ return on their investments. David prepares and prosecutes patent and trademark applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, drafts and negotiates license agreements, and provides litigation support in contested matters.
David has experience spanning numerous industries and technology areas, including textiles, LED technology, tools, computer software, telecommunications, consumer products, healthcare, and manufacturing, among others. Prior to attending law school, he worked as a process and project engineer for an international textile company.
Before joining Michael Best, David practiced with IP boutique firms and most recently with Forrest Firm, a full-service North Carolina-based firm.
