A partner in the Wealth Planning area of the firm’s Transactional practice group, Katherine concentrates her practice on wealth planning and local government law in Northeast Wisconsin.
High net worth individuals turn to Katherine for strategic advice on how to protect and preserve their wealth – and create legacies for future generations. Her wealth planning practice focuses on estate planning and succession planning, with a strong emphasis on elder law and agricultural related matters.
In local government law, Katherine represents more than 15 municipalities, including villages, towns and sanitary districts, in all aspects of management and operations. She is widely experienced in:
- Ordinance drafting and enforcement
- Contract negotiation and review
- Zoning and land development issues
- Open meeting law and public records law compliance
- Conflict of interest and ethics issues
Katherine also speaks and writes on various topics including elder law issues, estate planning and tax law.
Within the firm, Katherine has held various leadership positions, including service as chair of the former Elder Law and Disability Focus Group in the Wealth Planning Services Group, organizer and moderator of the firm’s Annual Municipal Officials Seminar, and one of the initial members and Manitowoc office representative on the firm’s former Community Outreach Committee.
