Overview

Landon works alongside start-ups, entrepreneurs, and established businesses on a variety of corporate and transactional matters to help them grow, finance, and sell emerging companies. Before joining Michael Best full-time, he gained experience as a Summer Associate with the firm.

During law school, Landon was an Investment Associate at the University of Colorado’s Deming Center Venture Fund where he sourced and evaluated Colorado-based startups for investment. In his first year of law school, he won first place in the Colorado Law Interdisciplinary Ethics Tech Competition for his presentation on the ethical and legal challenges related to contact tracing during the COVID-19 pandemic. In his second year of law school, Landon founded a start-up to solve a common problem for college students—the lack of safe places to store jackets and outerwear at bars. This experience gave him firsthand insight into the issues and challenges faced by new founders.

Landon’s experience includes working as a law clerk at a middle-market M&A firm, drafting entity formation documents and evaluating investment paperwork for stock issuance and fundraising. As a Student Attorney for the Entrepreneurial Law Clinic at Colorado Law, Landon helped three start-ups from inception to early-stage growth, including assisting a startup with a SAFE financing round.

Landon’s clients benefit from his work experience with Colorado-based venture funds, where he conducted legal due diligence to guide investment decisions, particularly within the health and wellness technology industry. Landon leverages his knowledge to help his clients navigate through the complexities of raising capital and scaling their businesses in order to achieve their goals.
