Malin is an attorney at Michael Best, working within the firm's Labor & Employment Group. In this role, Malin brings experience from diverse legal environments, particularly in education and public service.
Before joining Michael Best, Malin served as a law clerk at Milwaukee Public Schools, the largest school district in Wisconsin, with over 69,000 students and more than 8,500 employees. In this capacity, Malin represented the employer in unemployment insurance hearings, investigated employee complaints of discrimination and harassment, drafted position statements for Equal Rights Division (ERD) complaints under the supervision of the Milwaukee City Attorney’s office, and conducted legal research on various employment-related issues.
Since 2021, Malin has contributed to the Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinic, assisting clients in preparing documents, interviewing clients, and providing brief legal advice. Additionally, Malin volunteered at the Task Force McCoy Legal Clinic, helping Afghan refugees with asylum applications and interviewing them to prepare detailed asylum statements.
Additionally, Malin has held roles at Carmen Middle/High School of Science and Technology: Northwest Campus as a summer school principal and special education teacher.
