Overview

Masroor is an associate in the firm’s Intellectual Property practice. With an extensive background in engineering, he brings a technical perspective to obtaining patent protection for U.S. and international clients, ensuring thorough and innovative solutions. Masroor’s experience bridges the gap between complex technical concepts and effective IP solutions for mechanical and manufacturing clients.

While pursuing his law degree, Masroor worked as a Research Assistant for Professors Bruce Boyden and Kali Murray at Marquette University Law School. Masroor provided critical research and analysis on why innovators create new inventions and how new technologies like Artificial Intelligence will change the existing landscape of intellectual property law. Masroor’s contributions were published in law review articles authored by Professor Bruce Boyden and presented to members of the Intellectual Property community at national conferences.

Prior to joining Michael Best, Masroor gained experience as a design engineer for a Milwaukee-based power tool manufacturer. In his role, he specialized in the design of grip ergonomics, gearboxes, impact mechanisms, and other complex systems. He led cross-functional teams that included both technical and non-technical team members, launched multiple power tools generating more than $25 million in sales, and mentored junior engineers. His background in interpreting and designing around patents, combined with hands-on expertise in manufacturing processes and product development, informs his approach to patent law, and allows him to communicate business needs to a technical audience. Before joining the firm full-time, Masroor also completed Michael Best’s Summer Associate program.
