Michelle handles all aspects of U.S. and international trademark law, helping clients build and protect their IP portfolios while providing actionable advice on brand management.
Her practice focuses primarily on clearance, prosecution, and enforcement matters. She has experience handling proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and coordinating foreign trademark enforcement and litigation for clients based in the U.S. and around the world. She also has assisted clients protect their proprietary rights on the Internet including matters involving domain-name disputes.
Michelle brings experience in research and industry that deepen her understanding of complex issues and contribute to her focus on practical business considerations. She conducted research in molecular biology projects at the Mayo Clinic and Harvard Medical School’s New England Regional Primate Research Center. And she worked with many of the country's largest healthcare systems, reference labs, universities, and pharmaceutical companies during her years in the biotechnology and diagnostics industries with QIAGEN and Beckman Coulter.
During law school, Michelle was awarded the 2009 Robert and Clytia Chambers Award in Patent Law. She also earned CALI Awards for Excellence (denoting highest grade) in Intellectual Property and Antitrust Seminar, Patent Law, Copyright Law, Transactional Drafting, and Marital Dissolution.
