Michael Best’s Ashley Smith Named to Milwaukee Business Journal’s 40 Under 40

In recognition of her professional achievements and community involvement, Michael Best is pleased to announce that Ashley Smith has been named to Milwaukee Business Journal’s 40 Under 40. The highly competitive accolade honors young professionals throughout Southeastern Wisconsin becoming the next generation of leaders in their communities.

Assisting clients in a variety of business and transactional matters, Smith’s practice focuses on corporate law, including mergers and acquisitions, contract drafting and negotiations, complex corporate restructurings, venture and entrepreneurial matters, and corporate governance. She works collaboratively with other lawyers, financial advisors, and business executives to understand each client’s business objectives and provide legal guidance that aligns with each client’s goals and overall business strategy. Her legal acumen has been recognized by her inclusion on Ones to Watch (Corporate Law) by Best Lawyers, Top 40 Under 40 Black Lawyers in Wisconsin by National Black Lawyers, and Rising Stars by Super Lawyers.

In addition to her professional career, Smith has dedicated significant time to various community and philanthropic endeavors. Some of her more recent board and community service includes serving on the Business Law Section Board of Directors of the State Bar of Wisconsin, the Marquette University Law School Law Alumni Board, and the United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County Diversity Leadership Council, and a member of the Community Advisor and Ambassador Network and the Herbert J. Mueller Society of the Greater Milwaukee Foundation. Smith also served as the Past-President of the Wisconsin Association of African-American Lawyers.

Smith earned her J.D. from Marquette University and received her B.S. in Psychology from University of Pittsburgh.
